Title: "When Robotics Takes Off": Great Success for the Drones Workshop for Educators by NKUA at the 17th International CIE 2025 Conference

Athens, November 2025 

The workshop titled "When Robotics Takes Off: Drones Workshop for Educators", organized by the Information Technologies Laboratory of the Department of Pedagogy and Primary Education - National and Kapodistrian University of Athens  (NKUA), within the framework of the 17th International Conference "Informatics in Education" (17th CIE 2025), was successfully completed.

The workshop, which took place on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at the University of Piraeus, attracted many Primary and Secondary Education teachers, as well as students, who showed keen interest in utilizing new technologies for STEM education.

The workshop focused on:

• Current research trends in aerial robotics (drones) in teaching and learning.
• Programming and controlling drones (Ryze Tello, DJI Avata FPV, Crazyflie) using the DroneBlocks visual programming application, emphasizing simulation and real flight.
• Developing educational scenarios and, for the first time, the presentation of drone swarms as an innovative application.

The Information Technologies Laboratory of the Department of Pedagogy and Primary Education - National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, warmly thanks the participating educators for their active involvement, as well as the Conference organizers – the Departments of Informatics of the University of Piraeus and the Ionian University, in collaboration with the Hellenic Society for Informatics (EPY) – for the excellent hospitality and exceptional cooperation.
