Laboratory of Informatics

AUGMENTED AND MIXED REALITY

The sophisticated features and enhanced capabilities of smart mobile devices and wearable technologies, combined with advances in telecommunications, have contributed to the increasing use of new emerging technologies in teaching and learning. Examples of such technologies include Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Mixed Reality, recently all of which have recently been subsumed under the term Extended Reality.

The aim of the Augmented and Mixed Reality Action is to:

  • the design, development of Augmented and Mixed Reality learning activities in textbooks and in locations of particular historical and cultural value and their impact on learning,
  • the promotion of good practices in the use of Augmented and Mixed Reality applications for teaching and learning in various subjects,
  • examining the factors influencing the use of Augmented and Mixed Reality in formal and informal learning environments, and
  • the use and formation of (new) Models of Acceptance of Augmented and Mixed Reality by the educational community.

For this purpose, the Computer Laboratory has various mobile technology devices and Augmented and Mixed Reality glasses.
